Emery Allen Muskopf

July 12, 1934 — February 26, 2026

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Emery Allen Muskopf on February 26, 2026, at the age of 91. Emery took his last breath at Woodland Country Manor, surrounded by the deep love and gentle whispers of his family, bringing to a close a remarkable chapter that began on July 12, 1934, in the charming town of Oxford, Ohio. Born to John Fredrick Muskopf and Myrtle Brandenburg Muskopf, Emery grew up in a family that instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and love. Though the Muskopf family has been touched by loss, with Emery's beloved wife, Jean Day Muskopf, brother John Bruce Muskopf, and sister Mary Lou (Galloska) preceding him in death, his legacy continues to thrive through the surviving members who drew strength from his unwavering spirit. Emery shared an extraordinary 66-year marriage with Jean, his lifelong companion and partner in every venture. Together, they raised a loving family and cultivated the land along Brookville Road, transforming it from a dairy farm into the Long Meadow Subdivision, a testament to their vision and dedication. Their retirement years were spent in simple joy, hand in hand on their front porch, greeting neighbors and friends with warmth as they drove into the subdivision—a reflection of their enduring bond and welcoming nature. A graduate of McGuffey and the proverbial "school of hard knocks," Emery was a man of tenacity and wisdom. His career as a dairy farmer spanned 25 years, during which he and Jean worked the land inherited from his parents. After selling their cows, Emery channeled his passion and labor into developing Long Meadow, leaving a lasting mark on the community. Emery’s interests extended beyond farming. He was an avid collector, filling their home with over a hundred restored clocks, each ticking away time as a tribute to his meticulous craftsmanship. His collections of walking canes, letter openers, farming tools, and other antiques were displayed throughout the house he designed, each piece telling a story of history and appreciation for the past. He is survived by his devoted daughter, Cindy Staton, and her husband Steve, and his loving son, Marc Muskopf, and his partner Sherryl Rowe. Emery was the proud grandfather to Rachel McGovern and her husband Evan, and Daniel Staton and his wife Molly. His legacy of love further extends to his great-grandchildren, Joel McGovern, Isaac McGovern, and Malachi Staton, who carry forward his spirit of curiosity and kindness. In accordance with Emery’s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing his family to honor his memory in an intimate setting as they reflect on the love and lessons he imparted. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Woodland Country Manor for their compassionate care and support during Emery's final days. In lieu of flowers, they ask that you hold your loved ones close, cherish every moment, and remember Emery with a smile as you share stories of his life. Emery Allen Muskopf’s life was a testament to the power of love, the importance of family, and the beauty found in simple moments. He will be deeply missed, tenderly remembered, and forever cherished.
