Eloise Goudeau Anderson, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at the Richard Murphy Hospice House. Born on September 4, 1945, in Hammond, Louisiana, Eloise was the daughter of Blank and Blank Goudeau. Her journey was one of profound love, faith, and devotion, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her.
Throughout her 80 years, Eloise embodied grace and resilience, her life deeply rooted in the faith that guided her every step. Her unwavering belief in the goodness of others and the power of love shaped the way she lived, giving generously and loving unconditionally. Her warmth and strength were a beacon to her family and friends, providing comfort and inspiration through life's many trials and triumphs.
Eloise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Victor Gordon Anderson, whose love was her steadfast companion. She was also reunited with her dear daughter, Scarlet Anderson Rogers; her precious granddaughter, Katherine Forest; her sisters, Marie, Claire, and Katherine; and her brothers, Jimmy and Pat. Each held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the memories they shared.
She is survived by her three devoted daughters, Ora Lynn Anderson Smith, Jane Anderson, and Sarah Anderson Bauers, along with her son-in-law, Britt Bauers. Eloise’s legacy of love continues through her six grandchildren, James Rogers, Rebecca and Ryan Smith, Anderson Martin, and Ellie and Walker Torrance, who carry forward her spirit and values.
Eloise’s greatest joy was found in the time spent with her family and friends, where her laughter echoed, and her love enveloped all. Her legacy is one of love and compassion, a testament to a life lived with purpose and heart. Her unwavering devotion to her family and community will be remembered and cherished by all who were blessed to know her.
A service to honor Eloise’s life will be held on May 1, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, located at 601 North Oak Street, Hammond, LA 70401. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of a remarkable life that touched so many.
