Lucy’s legacy continues through her children: daughters Felicia Jackson and Shannon Phillips, and sons Ronnie Jackson Jr. (wife Tyesha Jackson) and Joshua Jackson (wife Vanessa Jackson). Her loving spirit will also be carried on by her siblings: sisters Brenda Strong (Alphonso Strong), Carolyn Phillips, Windy Phillips (Henry), and Shirley; and brothers Alfred Phillips Jr. and Kenneth Phillips.
Lucy’s pride and joy were her nine grandchildren: Timasia, T’ayla, Tia, Le’Airius, Tamaren, Kanyla, Cameron, Nate’, and Janelle, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Azhani and Azari. Her family was the center of her world, and her love for them was limitless.
A woman of faith, Lucy confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at the New Precious Grove M.B.C under Pastor C.J Young. Her spiritual journey continued as she shared her melodious voice in the gospel and senior choirs at Mountain Top M.B.C under Pastor Felix Martin. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength and solace.
Lucy’s dedication to learning was evident as she graduated from Austin High School and pursued her passion by completing beauty school. Her talent and creativity were evident to all who knew her and were touched by her work. She was the best at talking trash and always had a funny saying for everything.
Elnora Carter will be remembered for her warmth, her devotion to her family, and her unwavering faith. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
