It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ellie Mae Jackson, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by family on August 8, 2026. Born on December 31, 1951, in the vibrant neighborhood of Harlem, New York, Ellie was a cherished daughter of the late Alma Lewis and Bellinger Jackson. Ellie lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and quiet strength. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, her dear son Shawn Jackson, and her sisters Audrey Jackson and Belevene Jackson. Despite these profound losses, Ellie remained a pillar of resilience and grace, qualities that she carried throughout her life. She is survived by her loving brother, Edward Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Though she had no grandchildren, Ellie’s love and warmth extended to everyone she touched, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. Ellie attended Long Beach High School, where she earned her diploma in 2011. Her spirit of compassion was evident in her two-decade career as a dedicated home health aide. Through her work, she provided care and comfort to those in need, embodying the very essence of kindness and empathy. Ellie had a zest for life that was reflected in her love for travel and her enjoyment of family gatherings. Although she was a private individual, she valued the time spent with her close-knit family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. In honoring Ellie’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate her life. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered support and kindness during this difficult time. Though words cannot fully express the sorrow of her passing, Ellie’s legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she left behind. A viewing will be held at 9:00am at 602 Salem Ave, Elizabeth NJ followed by an 11:00am graveside farewell where close family members will gather at Forest Green Park Cemetery in Morganville, NJ Friday, on August 21, 2026. Ellie is safely in the arms of her maker and reunited with those who went before her; may her soul rest in eternal peace.
