Ella Mae McGregor September 25, 1951 – July 12, 2026 Ella Mae McGregor, cherished wife, devoted mother, beloved sister, friend to many, and treasured grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 12, 2026, after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Oklahoma City, OK, on September 25, 1951, Ella was the daughter of Aline and Jimmie Lee Gordon. She has now joined her parents, her beloved children Rhonda, Randell, and Preston, her brothers Leroy and Jimmie Lee Jr., and her grandparents, Pearl Gordon and the Fraziers, in eternal rest. Ella's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and faith. She graduated from Cromwell High in Cromwell, OK, and went on to touch countless lives through her work as a waitress, cook, and nurse's aide. Her strong work ethic and warm spirit shone brightly in every role she undertook, making a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her. A devout Baptist, Ella's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She could often be found attending services at her beloved Wildewood Baptist Church, where she was a pillar of her faith community. Even when she could no longer attend in person, her faith remained unwavering and a source of strength for her and her family. Ella had a zest for life that was contagious. She delighted in music, perfumes, and action movies, and had an impressive collection of purses. Her love for playing bingo, solving puzzles, and spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, and sister, Yvonne White, brought her immense joy. Known for her infectious laughter and warm smile, Elle had a remarkable ability to lift the spirits of those around her. Her generosity touched many lives, as she was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Ella leaves behind her husband, Hayward Eugene McGregor, her devoted sons Benjamin and Tony Gordon, her sister Yvonne, 15+ grandchildren, and 5+ great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude. A celebration of Ella's life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Wildewood Baptist Church, located at 60th NE 63rd, Oklahoma City, OK, 73105. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring the beautiful life she lived. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Elle's memory to the Wildewood Baptist Church Inc., in Oklahoma City, OK. The family extends their deepest gratitude to Wildewood Baptist Church for hosting the memorial service and to Wildewood Nursing Home for the compassionate care provided to Ella in her final days.
