Elizabeth Rebecca Jones-Leonard, a beloved matriarch and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at her home on the morning of June 29, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on October 6, 1951, in the serene town of Monticello, Florida, Elizabeth lived a life rich in love, compassion, and dedication to family and friends. Elizabeth was the cherished daughter of James and Elnora Jones, who instilled in her the values of generosity and kindness. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Andrew Leonard, and her dear parents, James and Elnora. Elizabeth’s journey through life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a devoted wife to Andrew, whom she married at the tender age of 17. Together, they created a warm and loving home in Live Oak, Florida, where they raised a beautiful family. Their marriage spanned over 40 joyful years until Andrew’s passing. A proud graduate of Suwannee High School, Elizabeth furthered her passion for the culinary arts by earning a certificate from culinary school. Her talents as a baker were well-known throughout the community, where she worked professionally for over 25 years, delighting many with her delicious creations. Elizabeth’s love for the culinary arts was matched only by her skill in crafting. Her hands were rarely still, as she devoted over 30 years to crocheting beautiful pieces for friends and family, each stitch a testament to her boundless love and care. Elizabeth’s life was filled with simple joys, such as baking and crafting, but her greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her seven children, 21 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her universe, and she cherished each moment spent with them. Her nurturing spirit and selflessness were evident to all who knew her; she was known to give selflessly, always placing the needs of others before her own. Elizabeth is survived by her three brothers and two sisters, who were a constant source of support and companionship throughout her life. Her siblings, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever cherish the memories of a woman whose love knew no bounds. A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held on June 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, located at 401 W. Howard St. Live Oak, FL 32364.
