December 27, 1961 — May 25, 2026

In loving memory of Elizabeth Ann Mellott, fondly known as "Betty," who passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on December 27, 1961, in the quaint town of Norwalk, Ohio, Betty's life was a testament to love, dedication, and the enduring strength of family bonds. Betty was the cherished daughter of Karl R. Plue and Gwendolyn A. Plue, who predeceased her and now welcome her into their eternal embrace. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Perry L. Mellott, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and countless memories. Together, they built a nurturing home filled with joy and warmth for their three devoted daughters. Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Trisha (Michael) Laws, Cassie (Carlos Withrow) Mellott, and Missy Mellott, each of whom carries forward her legacy with grace and kindness. Her role as a grandmother was one she treasured deeply, and she leaves behind seven grandchildren—Gage, Chase, Halee, Grace, Brooklyn, Ryan, and Jason—who were her pride and joy. Betty also had the joy of being a great-grandmother to Grayson and Ryder, further extending the family she adored. Family was the cornerstone of Betty's life, a value she cherished and nurtured in her siblings Brenda Zaccheus, Joyce Cardosa, Jaci (Tim) Gonzalez, and Karla Plue. Her extended family, including many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, will forever treasure the love and light she brought into their lives. Betty was a proud graduate of Western Reserve Schools, class of 1979. Her career was marked by a decade of dedication as a housekeeper, where she formed lasting friendships with many of her clients, valuing the companionship as much as the work itself. However, her most treasured role was that of a stay-at-home mom, where she found immense joy in caring for her husband and children, building a home filled with love. Betty's love for Christmas was unparalleled. Starting her festive preparations in late October, she transformed her home into a winter wonderland with each passing year. Her Christmas town collection was a testament to her holiday spirit, and the annual cookie baking weekend with family was a cherished tradition she looked forward to with childlike excitement. An avid horse lover, Betty's passion for these majestic animals was a gift she passed down to her children and grandchildren. As a 4-H advisor, she guided and cheered on countless young riders, leaving a lasting impact on their hearts. Betty's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit and the warmth of her smile will forever be etched in our memories. Though her passing leaves an immense void, her loving spirit will continue to live on through the lives she touched. A private funeral service will be held on June 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in honor of Betty's life and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. As we gather to celebrate her life, we remember Betty as a beacon of love, whose gentle soul enriched the lives of all she encountered. In our hearts and memories, Elizabeth "Betty" Mellott will forever remain a symbol of compassion, joy, and unwavering love. May she rest in peace, wrapped in the love of the family she cherished so dearly.
