Elizabeth Mary Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Mary Jones, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on August 19, 2026, at Ty Watson House. Born on August 7, 1943, in Vancouver, BC, Elizabeth lived a life rich with love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. Elizabeth, affectionately known as Liz, was the cherished daughter of David Peterson and Audrey Bridgen, who predeceased her. She is also predeceased by her beloved partner of 38 years, Tim Koropecki. Liz and Tim shared a beautiful life together, filled with adventure and joy, often found at their home on Sproat Lake or exploring the natural beauty of the province through their shared passion for hunting and fishing. A devoted mother, Liz leaves behind her children, Michael Jones and Nadene Jones, who were the light of her life. Her legacy continues through her three treasured grandchildren, Tamra Jones, Jessica Bailey, and Josh Bailey, who carry forward her spirit of kindness and love. Liz is also survived by her dear sisters, Lynn Moore and Lori Blande, who shared in the joys and challenges of life together. Professionally, Elizabeth served as the General Manager of the Hospitality Inn for many years, where she was respected and admired for her dedication and leadership. Her commitment to excellence and her warm, welcoming nature left an indelible mark on both guests and colleagues alike. Beyond her career, Liz was a stalwart pillar of the Port Alberni community, giving generously of her time to various local groups and organizations. Her volunteer work was a testament to her selfless nature and her unwavering belief in the power of community support. Above all, Elizabeth will be remembered for her kindness, her deep love for her family, and her unwavering strength in the face of life’s challenges. She faced her battle with cancer and Parkinson’s with grace and dignity, inspiring all who knew her. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and volunteers of Ty Watson House, who provided exceptional care during Liz’s final days, and to the wonderful staff of Heritage Place, who enriched her life over the past three years. In honor of Liz's memory, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and love for giving. Elizabeth Mary Jones leaves behind a legacy of love, courage, and compassion. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
