Elizabeth Linda Wright

May 7, 1948 — June 14, 2026

Elizabeth Linda Wright, lovingly known as Linda, peacefully departed this world on June 14, 2026, at Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 7, 1948, in New Martinsville, West Virginia, Linda was the cherished daughter of Frank G. Burch and Merle G. (Gorrell) Burch. Her life was a testament to love, family, and resilience. Linda's journey began in the close-knit community of New Martinsville, where she developed her lifelong values of kindness and generosity. She was an active member of 4-H and played in the Tyler Red Raiders band, experiences that nurtured her love for community and teamwork. A bright student, she graduated from Tyler County High School in 1966 and continued her education at Mountain State College, graduating in 1968. On January 11, 1971, in Middlebourne, WV, Linda married Michael Wright, the love of her life. Together, they shared 55 years of unwavering love and companionship, raising two children and building a home filled with laughter and warmth. Linda was the epitome of a devoted Air Force wife, holding the family together during Michael's service to the country. Linda found her professional calling as a Stock Trader Assistant at the Teachers Retirement System of Texas, where she worked diligently until her retirement in 2005. Her colleagues remember her as a dedicated and organized professional who brought warmth and sincerity to every interaction. Faith was an anchor in Linda's life. As a devoted member of the Westside Church of Christ in Round Rock, TX, for the past 12 years, she was a beacon of light and hope to her church community. Her faith guided her through life's challenges and triumphs, and her kindness touched all who knew her. Linda reveled in the simple joys of life — tending to her flowers, creating delicious meals, swimming, and engaging in spirited family game nights, especially her favorite game, chicken foot. Her granddaughters' activities brought her immense joy, and she was their biggest cheerleader. Linda had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel welcome and valued, leaving a legacy of love and compassion. Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Michael; her beloved son, Lewis and his wife, Hayley; and her cherished granddaughters, Natalie and Nicole. She also leaves behind her loving sisters, Joan Sams, Helen (Skip), and Penelope Burch, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored her. She is predeceased by her parents, her parents-in-law Lewis C. Wright and Anna G. (Taylor) Wright, and her infant daughter, Heather Amber Wright. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Ascension Seton Williamson MICU for their compassionate care, which will forever be remembered in their hearts. A celebration of Linda's life will be held on July 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at the Westside Church of Christ, located at 3300 RM 1431, Round Rock, TX. In honoring Linda, let us continue to spread the kindness and warmth she so generously shared with the world.
