Celebrating the Life of Elizabeth Ann Steed “Kitty” In loving memory, we celebrate the beautiful life of Elizabeth Ann Steed, affectionately known to many as “Kitty,” who peacefully passed away on June 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 18, 1965, in Henderson, North Carolina, Kitty blessed this world for 61 years with her warmth, strength, laughter, and love. Kitty was the beloved daughter of James McIntyre and Mary Elizabeth Steed-Durham, who helped shape the foundation of the woman she became. She was raised with a deep love for family, loyalty, and togetherness — values she carried throughout her life and poured into everyone around her. She was also blessed by the love and presence of her Aunt Alice Cross and Uncle Andrew Steed, who were meaningful parts of her family story and life journey. Kitty was the heart of her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She shared 27 beautiful years with her loving partner, Larry “Butch” Robinson. Their bond was special from the beginning — the kind of love that was felt by those around them. Together, they built a life filled with memories, family, and love, and they shared one beautiful daughter, Keevha Steed-Robinson. Kitty leaves to cherish her memory her children: Crystal Steed, Alphonso Steed, Rasheed Steed, Dwayne Steed, and Keevha Steed-Robinson; her stepdaughter, Rochelle Carter; and her bonus son and nephew, Tyquan Durham Williams. Her love also lives on through her siblings, Angela, Alfred, Dawn, Juan, Latisha, and Desmond, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories, family bonds, and love. One of Kitty’s greatest joys was being a grandmother. Her legacy continues through her 23 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her heart, her spirit, and her love. She loved her grandchildren deeply, and the moments she shared with them brought her happiness, laughter, and pride. Throughout her life, Kitty worked in various roles, but her most recent employment was with FedEx, where she developed meaningful friendships, strengthened her skills, and formed lifelong bonds. Those who worked alongside her will remember her not only for her dedication, but also for her kindness, humor, and ability to make others feel welcomed and valued. Kitty enjoyed the simple things in life, especially when they involved family. She loved watching action and scary movies, and she was especially fond of the Lifetime channel. Cooking was one of her favorite pastimes, and she found joy in preparing meals that brought her loved ones together. Whether she was sharing a meal, watching a movie, laughing with family, or spending time with her grandbabies, Kitty knew how to create moments that would never be forgotten. To know Kitty was to know love, strength, and family. She had a presence that could fill a room and a heart that touched many lives. She gave love generously, stood strong through life’s challenges, and remained deeply connected to those she cared for. Her life was a beautiful reflection of resilience, devotion, and unconditional love. Although Kitty’s physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her love will remain in every memory, every family gathering, every shared story, and every life she touched.
