Elizabeth Jane Metzler

September 27, 1933 — April 6, 2026

Elizabeth Jane Metzler, a beloved matriarch, devoted partner, and steadfast friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Satellite Beach, FL, on April 6, 2026, surrounded by the comforting presence of her family. Born on September 27, 1933, in Milwaukee, WI, Elizabeth was the cherished daughter of Harriett Modrynski and Raymond Goessner. Her departure marks the end of a life beautifully lived—a life dedicated to family, community, and love. Elizabeth's life was a testament to resilience, grace, and unwavering commitment. Graduating with an associate's degree from CCBI, she embarked on a journey that combined professional dedication with a profound love for family. Her career included valued contributions to Syroco, Inc. in Baldwinsville, NY, where she served in the human resources and credit departments. Later, she continued her professional endeavors with Flame Tech in Indian Harbour Beach, FL, alongside her beloved husband, Robert Metzler, following his retirement. On a crisp October day, Elizabeth married Robert Metzler, the love of her life, and together they celebrated over fifty years of marriage. Their union was blessed with eleven children, whose lives have been a testament to the loving and nurturing environment Elizabeth and Robert created. Though Robert, their son Stewart Metzler, and her sister Nancy Haagen have predeceased her, the legacy of their love endures through their surviving children: Robert W Metzler Jr. (Angela), Barbara Metzler, Susanna Metzler, Raymond Metzler, Sharie Metzler, Sally Hirsh, Debbie Cavino, Lynda Metzler, Lisa Minnoe (Niles), Scott Metzler (Lori), and Patrick Metzler (Jennifer). Elizabeth's legacy also includes twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, each a treasured testament to her enduring influence and love. Elizabeth was not only a pillar of her family but also a revered member of her community. An active member of the Immaculate Conception Church and its women's club, she dedicated her talents as an accomplished seamstress to creating cherished garments for the church and her family, including wedding dresses that encapsulated dreams and new beginnings. Known for her radiant smile and quick wit, Elizabeth possessed a talent for crossword puzzles and was a Skip-Bo card champion. Her compassionate nature and selflessness touched all who knew her, leaving a lasting impression of warmth and kindness. A service to honor Elizabeth's remarkable life will be held on April 16, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, located at 3780 S Highway A1A. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Elizabeth are warmly invited to celebrate her life and legacy. The Metzler family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Sea Pines Rehabilitation Center and Vitas Home Health for their compassionate care and support during Elizabeth's final days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of choice in Elizabeth's memory, continuing her legacy of love and kindness. Elizabeth Jane Metzler's life was a symphony of love, devotion, and grace. Her presence will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.
