With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth Heyn, affectionately known as Beth, on August 14, 2026. Born on January 13, 1927, in Bremen, Germany, Elizabeth lived a life marked by strength, conviction, and love. She departed this world on her own terms, at home, surrounded by her beloved sons and grandsons. Elizabeth was predeceased by her former husband, Melvin V. Simpson, with whom she shared three wonderful sons. Her legacy continues through her sons, David, Kenneth, and Wayne Simpson, who fondly remember her unwavering love and guidance. Her cherished grandchildren, Jeremy, Michael, Jonah, Bruno, and Adam, along with her great-grandson, Samuel, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Elizabeth is also survived by her sons' spouses, Arlene Boop, Andrea Rothman, and Noelle Simpson, who were integral parts of her extended family. In her later years, Elizabeth found deep companionship and love with her beloved partner, Erica Duncan. Their bond was a testament to the enduring power of love and the joy of shared lives. A dedicated teacher, Elizabeth spent much of her life nurturing the minds and spirits of children. Her passion for music was evident in every aspect of her life, and she instilled a love of melody and harmony in those around her. Known for her resilience and determination, Elizabeth was a beacon of strength for all who knew her. A memorial service to honor Elizabeth's remarkable life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 12:00 PM. The exact location is yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Elizabeth's memory. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Kenneth Simpson for his exceptional care and devotion to Elizabeth in her final years. His dedication ensured that Elizabeth's wish to spend her last days at home, surrounded by loved ones, was fulfilled. “Thank you, Ken, for having made Elizabeth’s last years so peaceful and safe.” Elizabeth Heyn's life was a testament to love, strength, and compassion. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered always.
