Elizabeth Fisher

August 6, 1926 — April 8, 2026

It is with profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth Fisher, a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, on April 8, 2026. Elizabeth was surrounded by her loving family and compassionate caregivers, who ensured she left this world with grace and dignity. Born on August 6, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of James and Jennifer Miller. She lived a remarkable 99 years, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering strength. Elizabeth's life was marked by her selfless devotion to family and an indomitable spirit. At a young age, she left school to help care for her parents, yet her keen intellect and quickness with numbers led her to success, first at Penn Fruit Company and later as a dedicated bank teller. In 1945, Elizabeth married the love of her life, Glenn J. Fisher, whom she met at a USO dance at the US Naval Yard in Philadelphia. Their love story was one of resilience and devotion, forged in the aftermath of World War II, and they built a beautiful life together. An active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Woodbury, Elizabeth's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing solace in times of need. She was a strong-willed, hard-working, caring, and honest woman, attributes that endeared her to all who knew her. Elizabeth had a passion for baking, often filling her home with the comforting aroma of her creations, and she delighted in sharing her love of plants with others. Her home was a haven of warmth, especially during the holidays, where she taught her family the art of double dutch while eagerly awaiting dinner. Later in life, Elizabeth found joy in weekends spent at the Jersey Shore, cherishing the simple pleasures of sand, sea, and family. Her legacy is carried forward by her devoted daughter, Glenda Bryant, and her treasured granddaughter, Amanda Horn. Elizabeth was predeceased by her loving husband, Glenn; her siblings, Dorothy, Henrietta, Virginia, Edward, William, and James; her beloved daughter, Anna Dee; son-in-law, John; and grandson, Christopher. She leaves behind two grandchildren who will carry her memory in their hearts. Elizabeth's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Brightview Senior Living in Woodbury. The care and kindness shown by the staff added much joy to Elizabeth's later years and provided comfort to her family. A service celebrating Elizabeth's life will be held on April 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, located at 62 Delaware St, Woodbury, NJ. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the extraordinary life of this remarkable woman. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Christ Episcopal Church or a charity of your choice in Elizabeth's name. Her generous spirit and love will remain a guiding light for those who were fortunate to know her. Elizabeth Fisher's legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, as they carry forward the lessons of love, strength, and resilience she imparted throughout her life.
