In Loving Memory

Elizabeth "Betty" Tabaka
November 12, 1955 — January 2, 2026
It is with profound sadness and cherished memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Tabaka, who left this world on January 2, 2026, at the age of 70, after a brief illness at Cooley Dickinson Hospital. Betty was born on November 12, 1955, in the picturesque village of Zdroche, Marcinkowice, Poland, to her loving parents, the late Leon P. Tabaka and Stanislawa (Maczko). Her life was a testament to resilience and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Betty's journey was one of courage and beauty. She emigrated from Poland with her family and attended Easthampton schools, where she participated in various programs designed for individuals with disabilities. These experiences highlighted her incredible determination and inner strength, qualities that defined her life and inspired those around her.
Betty was a remarkable individual whose heart overflowed with kindness and love. Her affection for animals was evident in her frequent visits to Mystic Aquarium, where the Beluga Whales captivated her imagination. A creative spirit, Betty delighted in crafts and was known for her uncanny knack for winning bingo games, a pastime she enjoyed immensely. Yet, it was the moments spent with her family and close friends that brought her the greatest joy.
Predeceased by her beloved parents, Leon and Stanislawa, Betty leaves behind a family who adored her. Her cherished sister, Donna, and brother-in-law, Frank Baj of Hadley, MA, as well as her dear brothers and sisters-in-law: Theodore & Kathy Tabaka of Southampton, MA, Casmir & Diana Tabaka of Tuttle, OK, Joseph & Debbie Tabaka of Westfield, MA, Michael & Chantal Tabaka of Oklahoma City, OK, and her treasured nieces and nephews, Christine & Jody Entwistle of Tuttle, OK, Adam & Andrew Tabaka of Southampton, MA, and the young ones she doted on, Hunter Baj, Savanna Entwistle, Samantha Entwistle, and Cheyanne Tabaka, will forever hold her memory close.
A service to honor Betty's life will be held on June 5, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Stanislaus Cemetery, located at 36 E Green St, Easthampton, MA 01027. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a woman who touched so many lives with her gentle spirit.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to Cooley Dickinson Development, a gesture that echoes her gratitude for the care and compassion she received. Contributions can be sent to development@cooleydickinson.org.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Cooley Dickinson Hospital ER and CCO units for their extraordinary care and support during Betty's final days.
As we say goodbye to Betty, we celebrate a life well-lived, a heart that loved deeply, and a soul now at peace. Her legacy of kindness and perseverance will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
