A beacon of warmth and love, Elizabeth's life was a testament to the power of quiet strength and unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Born on October 13, 1927, in the close-knit community of Elmira, Elizabeth was the embodiment of grace and compassion. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Jerome Rich, and her beloved son, Joseph Rich. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her surviving children: Amy Rich Anthes, David Anthony Rich, and Mark Thomas Rich. She was the proud and devoted grandmother to ten wonderful grandchildren: Blair Holder, Margaret Kirkland, Dale Anthes Elizabeth Rich, Juliana Rich, Jason Rich, Zoe Rich, Alex Rich, Emily Rich, and Allison Rich, and the loving great-grandmother to four great-grandchildren. Throughout her life, Elizabeth found immense joy in the simple pleasures and family traditions that defined her days. Her grandchildren were her greatest treasures, and she delighted in sharing stories, offering guidance, and creating memories that will be cherished by generations to come. A private ceremony will take place, honoring Elizabeth's wish for an intimate gathering of those closest to her. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Service to celebrate her life on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at McInerny Funeral Home, 502 W. Water St., Elmira, NY. In lieu of flowers, Elizabeth's family encourages acts of kindness in her memory such as helping a neighbor, supporting a loved one, or sharing a moment of warmth with someone in need.
