Elijah Robert Decker

Elijah Robert Decker, born on August 24, 1995, in Newton, New Jersey, and moved to Chateaugay Ny at the age of 19 has peacefully departed this world on what would have been his thirty-first birthday, August 24, 2026. His courageous battle with glioblastoma came to a close, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and cherished memories. Elijah was the beloved son of the late Lillian Decker and Cline Harris. He was predeceased by many dear family members, including his parents, Lillian and Cline, and cherished siblings Dixie Benner of Sussex Nj, Nicklaus Decker of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Christopher Decker of Hawley, Pennsylvania, and Lee Decker of Brick Township, New Jersey. A compassionate and devoted individual, Elijah is survived by his loving family, including his brothers Timothy Decker of Hampton Township, New Jersey, Jay Decker of Montague and his sister Nicki McMickle of Montague, New Jersey. Elijah's family and friends take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his loved ones who have gone before him. Elijah dedicated his professional life to the Ogdensburg Port Authority, where he was not only respected for his work ethic but also admired for his kindness and integrity. His colleagues and friends remember him as a beacon of positivity and a source of inspiration for all who had the pleasure of knowing him. A lover of the great outdoors, Elijah found solace and joy in hiking and fishing on the st. Lawrence River. Whether wandering through serene trails or casting a line into tranquil waters, Elijah's spirit was one with nature. These passions were a testament to his adventurous heart and deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Big love for country music. He also was Jay’s biggest supporter for music writing. As requested by Elijah a private ceremony will be held to honor Elijah's life and legacy on September 3rd and 4th 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 in ogendsburg ny to allow family from afar to attend. September 5th private funeral services at 11 am and immediately following celebration of life allowing family and close friends to gather in remembrance and celebration of his journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Elijah's memory to a charity of your choice, reflecting his love for the outdoors and his gentle spirit.
