Elena H. Pena, a cherished soul and beloved matriarch, peacefully passed away at the age of 81 on March 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 18, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, Elena lived a life full of grace, love, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Elena was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Juan R. Pena, whose memory she cherished deeply and whose love was her guiding light. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared a lifetime of memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew them. She is survived by her devoted children: daughter Linda Aranda and her husband Jerry Aranda, son Juan R. Pena Jr and his wife Melissa Pena, and son Jose M. Pena. Elena's legacy of love and kindness lives on through her 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was a beacon of warmth and wisdom to her family, offering guidance and comfort with a gentle touch and a loving smile. Elena's journey was one marked by a profound sense of community and compassion. She was a longtime member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, where she found solace and strength in her faith, and where she was known for her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to serving others. Her kindness extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of everyone she encountered with her genuine care and infectious laughter. Family and friends are invited to honor Elena’s remarkable life at a memorial service to be held on March 16, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. Matthew Catholic Church, located at 10703 Wurzbach Rd. The service will be a celebration of Elena's life and the immeasurable love she shared with the world. Elena Pena’s indomitable spirit and boundless love will remain in the hearts of those who knew her, forever inspiring us to live with compassion, grace, and kindness.
