She worked for more than thirty years as a community librarian, where her patience, humor, and deep love of learning made her a trusted friend to generations of readers. Eleanor shared a long and loving marriage with Daniel and built a home known for Sunday dinners, handwritten notes, and a garden that seemed to bloom in every season. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many dear friends who will remember her steady generosity and gentle wisdom. A memorial service will be held at Rosewood Memorial Chapel in Portland, Oregon, on June 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eleanor’s memory to the American Red Cross.
