In Loving Memory
Eleanor Doman
November 14, 1949 — April 9, 2026
In loving memory, we honor the life and legacy of Eleanor Doman, fondly known as Ellie, who departed this world peacefully at her home on April 9, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on November 14, 1949, in Washington, Pennsylvania, Ellie was a beacon of love, warmth, and compassion to all who knew her.
Ellie was born to Dorothy and Clyde McCracken and grew up surrounded by the love of her family. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Paul James; her brother, James; and her sisters, Darlene Aiken and Carol Snyder. Despite these profound losses, Ellie found strength in her family and faith, dedicating her life to those she cherished.
On May 16, 1966, she married her soulmate, Dan Doman, with whom she shared a remarkable journey of love and companionship. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Angela Bononi (Christian) and Mark Doman (Judy), who were blessed by their mother’s nurturing spirit and unwavering support. Her legacy continues to thrive through her beloved grandchildren: Ben Bononi, A.J. Doman, Silvia Bononi, and Katelyn Doman, each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Ellie was a woman of great determination and strength. After graduating from Washington High School, she dedicated herself to raising her family. Later in life, she pursued her passion for nursing, graduating in 1988. She enjoyed a fulfilling career at the University of Pittsburgh Physicians (UPMC) and retired in 2006, leaving behind a legacy of care and compassion that touched countless lives.
Her sisters, Bell Imhof, Naomi Johnson, and Brenda Pannell, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and her cherished church family at Calvary Baptist Church, will hold her memory dear. Her church community was central to her life, as she dedicated many years to serving Christ and spreading love and kindness.
Ellie’s love for baking, crafting, and traveling was evident in the joy she found in life’s simple pleasures. She delighted in “girls only” cruises with her sisters, where laughter and memories were abundant. Known for her hospitality and passion for making others feel valued and loved, Ellie was the heart of every gathering and a friend to all.
Her candid nature and unwavering determination were hallmarks of her personality, and she lived each day with a strong sense of purpose and accomplishment. Ellie’s warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know her.
As we bid farewell to our beloved Ellie, we celebrate her remarkable life and the countless ways she enriched our lives. Her legacy of love, faith, and generosity will continue to inspire us. May she rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love she so freely gave to others.
A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, where Ellie’s life will be celebrated by family, friends, and her cherished church community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Ellie’s honor, as a tribute to her life of service and devotion.
