Elder Wayne Eric Glasco

June 24, 1952 — May 7, 2026

Elder Wayne Eric Glasco, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and pastor, peacefully transitioned into eternal rest on May 7, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on June 24, 1952, to Earl Glasco and Thelma Dickerson, Wayne was a quiet force of wisdom and love in the lives of many. Predeceased by his cherished parents, he is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Beverly Cramer Glasco; their children, Holly (Stan), Wayne Jr., Erica, Jennifer, and Kellie; his brothers, Kevin and Greg; and a host of loving cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was also the proud grandfather to seven adoring grandchildren. Wayne's journey began in Wilmington, Delaware, where he graduated from Selasianum High School in 1970. He went on to build a career as a welder, first at Ballymore's in West Chester, PA, and later at General Motors in Wilmington, Delaware. His industrious spirit and dedication to his work were evident to all who knew him. Wayne's true calling, however, was in ministry. After initially serving as an altar boy in the Catholic Church, he felt a profound void in his life. This led him to Elder William Cramer, who introduced him to the spiritual path that would define his life's work. Baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Ghost in 1975, Wayne embraced his calling to the ministry. Ordained as an elder in 1985 at the C.O.O.L.J.C. Holy Convocation in Los Angeles, CA, he rose to the position of Assistant Pastor, serving under Bishop William Cramer. As Bishop Cramer's health declined, Wayne was installed as pastor of Greater Emmanuel Temple Church on May 7, 2016. A man of faith and action, Elder Glasco was known for his dynamic preaching. Though a man of few words in daily life, his voice resonated powerfully from the pulpit, passionately sharing the message of salvation. He was dedicated to his community, working with the Kennett Area Community Service (KACS) and continually donating food to those in need. In 2021, he articulated a vision for the church to be a welcoming place for people of all races and ethnic backgrounds, a vision that continues to inspire. Wayne was an avid skateboarder in his youth and a talented artist who delighted in drawing cartoon and comic book characters, a passion he shared with his grandchildren. His love for gardening was a peaceful counterbalance to his busy pastoral duties, a hobby he shared with his father. A Star Wars enthusiast, Elder Glasco was particularly fond of his special edition lightsaber, a cherished memento from a family trip to Disney World. Elder Glasco's warmth, wisdom, and humor were felt by all who knew him. Known for his catchphrase on Zoom Bible studies, "Get a good night's rest and wake up in the morning ready to fight the good fight of faith all over again," he leaves a legacy of perseverance and dedication. He taught us the importance of balance, encouraging time for family, hobbies, and personal growth amidst life's challenges. A celebration of Elder Wayne Eric Glasco's life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Greater Emmanuel Temple Church, located at 296 Pemberton Rd. The service will also be livestreamed at https://debaptiste.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Kennett Area Community Service at https://kacsimpact.org, an organization dear to his heart. The Glasco family extends their deepest gratitude to the hospital in DE and Dr. ??? for their exceptional care and support during Wayne's final journey. Elder Wayne Eric Glasco's legacy of faith, love, and service will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
