Elder Wayne Eric Glasco

June 24, 1970 — May 7, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Elder Wayne Eric Glasco, who departed this life on May 7, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on June 24, 1952, to Earl Glasco and Thelma Dickerson, Wayne was a true to his faith, family, and community service. Wayne was a graduate of Selasianum High School, class of 1970, and embarked on a career as a welder at Ballymore's in West Chester, PA, before moving on to General Motors in Wilmington, Delaware. But it was his spiritual journey that truly defined his life. Raised in the Catholic Church as an altar boy, Wayne felt a deep yearning for something more. In 1975, under the guidance of Elder William Cramer, he was baptized in Jesus' name and received the Holy Ghost, a transformative experience that led him to a lifelong commitment to ministry. In 1985, Wayne was ordained as an elder at the C.O.O.L.J.C. Holy Convocation in Los Angeles, CA. He served as Assistant Pastor, learning from Bishop William Cramer the importance of visiting the sick and praying for those in need. This mentorship prepared him for his role as Pastor of Greater Emmanuel Temple Church, a position he humbly accepted on May 7, 2016. Under his leadership, he laid out a vision for a community church welcoming to all races and ethnic backgrounds, and he was dedicated to serving the Kennett Area Community Service by continually donating food. Elder Glasco was known for his quiet demeanor, yet when he took the pulpit, he was a powerful voice for the gospel, often emphasizing,..." Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost", from Acts 2:38. In the face of the pandemic, he adapted to the digital age, learning new technologies to continue his ministry online, always signing off with encouragement to "get a good night's rest and wake up in the morning ready to fight the good fight of faith all over again." Wayne was a man of balance. He cherished his family and hobbies, a message he often shared with his congregation. He emphasized the importance of self-care and finding ways to enjoy life. Whether it's a quiet moment with a cup of tea, a walk in nature, or spending time on a hobby. As a young man, he was a talented skateboarder and artist, passions he passed on to his grandchildren by drawing for them. He was also an avid gardener, sharing this love with his late father. A devoted Star Wars fan, Wayne's excitement was palpable when he showed off his special edition lightsaber to family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Beverly, daughter Holly (Stan), son Wayne Jr., and daughters Erica, Jennifer, and Kellie, and his seven cherished grandchildren. Wayne is also survived by his brothers Kevin and Greg, along with a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Thelma. A celebration of Elder Glasco's life will be held on May 16, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Greater Emmanuel Temple Church, located at 296 Pemberton Rd. The service will be available via livestream at https://debaptiste.com. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Kennett Area Community Service at https://kacsimpact.org, an organization dear to Wayne's heart. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the medical staff in Delaware and Dr. [Name] for their compassionate care during Wayne's final days. Elder Wayne Eric Glasco will forever be remembered for his unwavering faith, his love for family, and his dedication to community service. His legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him to live with purpose, love, and balance.
