Elaine Lindeman, a cherished soul who touched the hearts of many, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on December 17, 1941, in Connersville, Indiana, Elaine was the beloved daughter of John and Blanche (Hedrick) Wildridge. Known for her vibrant personality and generous spirit, Elaine lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure, leaving a legacy that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. Elaine grew up in Indianapolis, where she attended Broad Ripple High School, graduating with a flair for life that would carry her through the years. It was here in the heart of Indiana that Elaine met the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Lindeman. They married on May 11, 1963, embarking on a beautiful journey that spanned 56 years. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and joy, raising their daughter Cathy Thompson, who, alongside her husband Kevin, was a source of immense pride and happiness for Elaine. Elaine's career as a receptionist allowed her to share her gift of connecting with people, a talent that was second nature to her. Her animated and funny demeanor made her a favorite among colleagues and clients alike. Beyond her professional life, Elaine had a passion for travel, with a special fondness for tropical islands, particularly Hawaii, where she found peace and relaxation with a cocktail. Elaine's heart truly came alive when she was with her grandchildren, Dustin, Kayla (Derrick), and Megan. Known affectionately as "Memaw," she was an integral part of their lives, attending every game and event, cheering them on with unmatched enthusiasm. She made each grandchild feel extraordinarily special, a testament to her thoughtful and caring nature. Her love for Christmas was legendary, as she and Dick transformed each holiday into a magical celebration filled with laughter and delight. Elaine's annual Christmas parties were eagerly anticipated by family and friends, where her baking skills, honed with love and fun alongside her grandchildren, were a highlight. Elaine's zest for life extended to the dance floor, where she reveled in the rhythm of oldies music, and to the snowy slopes, where she shared the thrill of skiing with her grandchildren. Her unwavering support for the Indianapolis Colts showcased her passion and loyalty, traits that defined her character. Elaine was predeceased by her loving parents, John and Blanche, and her devoted husband, Dick. She leaves behind a family who adored her: her daughter Cathy, son-in-law Kevin, grandchildren Dustin, Kayla, and Megan, and great-grandchildren Benjamin, Addison, and Aiden. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on in their hearts forever. A service to honor Elaine's life will be held on June 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Venice Memorial Gardens, located at 1950 Center Road, Venice, Florida 34292. Her family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Liana Memory Care Venice and Heron Club of Prestancia in Sarasota, where Elaine was lovingly cared for and embraced as "Memaw." Elaine Lindeman will be remembered as a beacon of joy, a loving wife, a devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and a true friend.
