Elaine Donelson

September 26, 1941 — June 6, 2026

Elaine Donelson, a cherished soul whose love and warmth touched everyone she met, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, enveloped by the love of her family. Born on September 26, 1941, in the quaint town of New Hampton, Missouri, Elaine was the beloved daughter of Edward and Leola Riggins. Elaine's life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. She was a devoted wife to her late husband Charles E. Donelson, whom she married on September 3, 1966. Their union was a beautiful journey of companionship and shared dreams, nurturing a family filled with love and laughter. Together, they raised three wonderful children, one of whom, George Vernan Thompson, preceded her in death, leaving a void that was impossible to fill but a legacy that will forever endure. Throughout her life, Elaine was a beacon of kindness and creativity. Her love for crocheting and her skill as an avid seamstress were renowned. Her hands crafted countless treasures, each stitch and seam a reflection of her generous spirit and meticulous nature. These creations not only clothed and comforted her loved ones but also served as enduring symbols of her love and care. Elaine was a proud and loving mother to her surviving children, Charles (married to Krystal) and Bobby. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished her role as a grandmother to Brandy (David), Cody (Brittany), Schuyler, Anna (Shaquille), and Bryson. Her legacy continues through her seven great-grandchildren: Baylin, Zay, Elliana, Miles, Preston, Blaze, and X George Scott, who will grow up with stories of their great-grandmother's kindness and the values she instilled in all who knew her. Elaine's life was enriched by her close-knit family, including her brother William (married to Marcy), nieces Andrea, Amy, Megan, Cindy, Theresa, and her nephew Matthew. Elaine was preceded in death by her siblings Robert Riggins, Kathy, and RuthAnn Riggins, who now embrace her in eternal peace. Elaine's home was always open, her heart ever generous. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and the twinkle in her eye will be dearly missed but forever cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. As we bid farewell to Elaine, we hold onto the countless memories she has left behind, grateful for the time we shared with her. We find comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her and that her spirit will continue to guide us. Elaine Donelson's life will be celebrated in a service honoring her memory, where her friends and family will gather to share stories, laughter, and tears, embracing the love she so freely gave throughout her life. Her memory will forever be a blessing, a testament to a life well-lived and a heart well-loved.
