Eileen Dolly Ezukameow was born on August 15, 1952 to Nick and Catherine Ezukameow. She was among 9 brothers and sisters. She grew up in Nome and graduated from Nome High School in 1971. After graduating from Nome High School she attended Alaska Business College in Anchorage. She earned a few certificates from the finance, realty, and speed writing classes she attended. She attended Alaska Business College from 1973 to the summer of 1975. Eileen started a long career with Norton Sound Health Corporation in 1981. In her 45 years with NSHC, she worked in various positions and roles. She worked at the Switch Board early in her career but spent most of her career in the Behavioral Health Services department. She worked closely with the village-based counselors, helping with travel arrangements, timecards, and supply orders. She was well loved in the Nome office, along with many employees in the village communities. In 2025, Eileen retired and was surprised with a retirement party surrounded by family and friends. She was recognized as the longest tenured employee at Norton Sound Health Corporation. Eileen had Kathleen in 1973. She later met her life long companion, Jacob in 1975 and together they had Jackie, Iris, Jake Jr., and Irene. Eileen and Jake shared 38 wonderful years together, creating a loving family. Eileen loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grand children. She never missed a school or sporting event, always cheering proudly from the sidelines. She filled her family's lives with love and encouragement, frequently sharing her wisdom, favorite songs, and story after story with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Eileen enjoyed many subsistence activities, spending time at the Ezukameow camp site at Fort Davis. Eileen spent many summers camping, fishing, and picking berries and greens. In recent years, she enjoyed following her daughters on car rides to go fishing and picking. Any chance she had, Eileen shared stories of her subsistence activities growing up. Eileen also loved her game shows, which she watched on a daily basis. She loved guessing the answers along with the contestants.
