February 15, 1973 — April 10, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edwin "Eddo" Villanueva, a cherished soul who left this world on April 10, 2026, at the age of 53. Edwin's journey began on February 15, 1973, in the vibrant town of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, where he was born to Aidaluz and Miguel Villanueva, who instilled in him the values of love, resilience, and community spirit. Edwin, affectionately known as Eddo to family and friends, lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and an unyielding dedication to those he loved. He was a devoted father to his two beloved children, Crystal and Alexander Villanueva, who were the lights of his life. His love for them was boundless, and his pride in their accomplishments was evident to all who knew him. Family meant everything to Edwin, and he shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings, Ramon, Maria, Luis, Elizabeth, Miguel, Sonia, and Nancy. Together, they formed a tapestry of love, laughter, and support that enriched each other's lives. Edwin's nephews and nieces, who lovingly referred to him as Uncle Eddo, were also deeply cherished, and his playful spirit and wise counsel will be missed by them all. Edwin's life was a testament to the power of generosity and kindness. He had an uncanny ability to connect with people, making them feel valued and heard, whether they were lifelong friends or new acquaintances. His infectious laughter and genuine smile brightened any room, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. Throughout his life, Edwin carried the rich cultural heritage of his Puerto Rican roots with pride, sharing the vibrant traditions and stories of his birthplace with those around him. His love for music, dance, and the flavors of Puerto Rican cuisine was a source of joy, and he found great pleasure in bringing people together to celebrate life's moments, big and small. As we gather to remember Edwin, we honor a life lived with integrity, compassion, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, a family united by his nurturing spirit, and a community made better by his presence. Though Edwin's departure leaves an irreplaceable void, the memories he created will forever remain in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity close to Edwin's heart, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others. A memorial service to celebrate Edwin's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will come together to share stories, laughter, and tears, remembering the extraordinary man he was. Rest in peace, dear Edwin. Your love will continue to guide and inspire us all.
