January 29, 1965 — October 26, 2026

Edward Wayne Forsyth, affectionately known as "Eddie," passed away peacefully at home on October 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with complications from diabetes. Born on January 29, 1965, in Shepard Airforce Base, Iowa Park, Texas, Eddie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Eddie was the son of the late Jerry Wayne Forsyth and Susan Lynn Goforth Smith. He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Thomas Paul Redwine. Eddie has a surviving stepmother, Margaret Forsyth. Eddie's legacy of love and resilience continues through his surviving family members, including his devoted wife of 34 years, Sheryl Redwine, whom he married on January 10, 1992, in Tooele, Utah. Together, they built a life and family that brought him joy. He was the proud father of four daughters: Nichole Shoemaker (Cason), Candice Yeo (Arthur), Kandee Strube (Kyle), and Jessica Harbison (Nathan). Eddie's heart was filled with love for his grandchildren: Cash Shoemaker, Cayden Shoemaker, Faith/Kai Shoemaker, Jace Yeo, Hudsyn Strube, Haddie Strube, and Cora Harbison. Eddie is also survived by his siblings: Tonya Fulford (Wayne), Celena Redwine, Heather Byers (Chris), Danna Pledger (Joey), Wayne Forsyth (Holly), and Brandon Forsyth (Laura), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins and many friends. A graduate of Loop High School in Loop, Texas, Eddie pursued a career as a journeyman electrician, a path that led him to work with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and various commercial and industrial electrical companies until his illness in 2016. His colleagues fondly nicknamed him "Big Bad Ed," a testament to his work ethic and commitment to excellence. Eddie had a deep love for the outdoors, finding peace and joy in fishing, hunting, motocross, horseback riding, or simply sitting on the porch and watching the wildlife in the yard. His love for his family was profound and unwavering, earning him the affectionate nicknames "Eddyro" and "Pa" from his loved ones. In honor of Eddie's memory, the family requests that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund, an organization that held special significance in their lives. As we remember Eddie, we are reminded of the heartfelt message: "Say not in grief 'he is no more' but live in thankfulness that he was." Eddie's life was a testament to love, resilience, and the enduring bonds of family, and he will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank Davida Dialysis Center in Lockhart, Texas for their love and caring for Eddie for eight years.
