Edward George Meerbott

November 22, 1939 — September 8, 2026

Edward George Meerbott, lovingly known to friends as "Mr. Ed," passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 22, 1939, in Maywood, New Jersey, Ed lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a dedication to those he cherished. Ed spent 30 years working at Edison Brothers, where he was not only a dedicated employee but also a cherished colleague. He retired in 2005, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment that inspired many. Beyond his professional life, Ed was an avid reader, a trivia enthusiast, and a passionate football fan who eagerly awaited each new season. His favorite sports bar was often graced by his presence and his infectious enthusiasm for the game. A devoted partner for 25 years to Maria Angela Evini, Ed was a beacon of love and support. As a father of five, a grandfather to seven, and a great-grandfather to three, Ed's family was the center of his world. He was a great big brother and a pillar of strength and warmth to his siblings. His quick wit and warm smile were his trademarks, and he had the unique gift of making everyone feel welcome and valued. A memorial service to celebrate Ed's life will be held on September 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Stanfill Funeral Home, located at 10545 S Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33156. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Ed are warmly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lung Cancer Foundation in Ed's memory. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Baptist Hospital and the Miami Cancer Institute for their compassionate care during Ed's illness. Ed Meerbott's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of all those who were fortunate enough to know him. His spirit will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
