May 8, 1931 — June 6, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Edward F. Dibble, a beloved father, grandfather, teacher, and friend, who left this world on June 6, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on May 8, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, Edward was the cherished son of Willis and Isabelle Dibble, whose values of kindness and generosity shaped his life profoundly. Edward's journey was marked by a steadfast dedication to family, education, and service. He shared a beautiful life with his late wife, Ann Dibble, and together they nurtured a loving family. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Andrew Dibble, whose memory he cherished deeply. Edward's legacy continues through his surviving children: Edward, Mary, Ann, and Jennifer, who carry forward his values and love. He was a proud father-in-law to Patrick Brennan and a doting grandfather to Brian and Elizabeth Brennan, who brought immense joy to his life. A graduate of Chaminade High School and Niagara University, Edward's commitment to education extended beyond his own learning. He served as a dedicated sixth-grade teacher at the Rushmore School in Carle Place, where he inspired countless young minds with his warmth, patience, and wisdom. His impact as an educator was profound and enduring, leaving a lasting impression on students and colleagues alike. Edward also served his country with honor during the Korean War as a proud member of the Army. His sense of duty and service continued in civilian life, demonstrated by his devoted volunteer work at Mercy Hospital and the Interfaith Nutrition Network (INN), where he tirelessly contributed to the well-being of others. Beyond his professional and volunteer contributions, Edward found joy in life's simple pleasures. He was an avid tennis and golf enthusiast, and his Saturdays were often spent with his son-in-law Patrick, cheering on their favorite English soccer team, Millwall. A patron of the arts, Edward relished music, movies, and museums, finding beauty and inspiration in creativity. A celebration of Edward's remarkable life will take place on June 12, 2026, at Macken's Mortuary, located at 52 Clinton Avenue, Rockville Centre, New York 11570. As we gather to honor his memory, we invite friends and family to share stories and celebrate the love and kindness he bestowed upon us all. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Edward's name to The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) in Hempstead, New York, an organization close to his heart. Contributions can be made through their website at the-inn.org. Edward F. Dibble's life was a testament to the power of love, education, and community service. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and integrity that will continue to inspire and guide us. Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit and teachings will forever illuminate our hearts.
