Edward A Sweeney

June 3, 1960 — May 21, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Edward A. Sweeney, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on May 21, 2026, at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with a terminal illness. Born on June 3, 1960, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Edward was a beacon of warmth, humor, and resilience to all who knew him. Edward was the beloved son of the late William and Jacqueline Sweeney, and he is now reunited with them, his sister Kathleen, and his brother Rusty in eternal peace. From a young age, Edward carried the values instilled by his family, embodying the strength and compassion that would define his life and legacy. In 1980, Edward married the love of his life, Pamela, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey that spanned 46 cherished years. Together, they built a family rooted in love and unity, leaving behind a tapestry of memories that will forever comfort those he leaves behind. Edward's life was blessed with the joy of his children: Eric, Jacqueline, Deeanne, and William, who, along with their spouses, Kelly, Dewayne, Blake, and Morgan, were the pride of his heart. His legacy continues through his 12 grandchildren—Acadia, Maeven, Freya, Caiden, Tyler, Johnathen, Harmony, Liberty, Destiney, Felicity, Peyton, Daxton—and his great-granddaughter, Meara, each of whom he adored and who will carry forward his spirit. A master craftsman, Edward dedicated 25 years of his professional life to the Springdale School District, where his skill and dedication left an indelible mark. His work was not merely a job but a testament to his commitment to providing for his family and contributing to his community. Edward's passions were as vibrant as his personality. He was a true aficionado of classic cars and racing, often found immersed in the world of woodworking, and he relished the joy of a good BBQ surrounded by loved ones. His laughter was infectious, often breaking through somber moments with a joke that lightened hearts and brought smiles. Edward's strong will and immense heart were the cornerstones of his character. He worked tirelessly every day of his life, setting an example of diligence, integrity, and love for his family. His presence was a steady beacon, guiding those around him with unwavering support and boundless affection. The Sweeney family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated nursing staff who so tenderly cared for Edward in his final moments. Your compassion and kindness provided a haven of comfort in a time of need, and for that, you have our eternal thanks. In accordance with his wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Edward's life. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever reside in our hearts and homes, a guiding light that will never be forgotten. Edward A. Sweeney, you are so very much loved, remembered, and celebrated. We will hold you forever in our hearts, and your legacy will continue to inspire and uplift us. Rest in peace, dear Edward.
