Edna Geraldine Dean " Gerri"

December 1, 1941 — March 30, 2026

It is with profound sadness and deep respect that we announce the passing of Edna Geraldine Dean, fondly known to all as "Gerri," who peacefully departed this world on March 30, 2026, at the age of 84. Gerri was born on December 1, 1941, in Paterson, New Jersey, to the late James and Bessie Jeter. Her life's journey, full of grace and quiet strength, leaves an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Gerri was a proud graduate of Eastside High School in 1958, where her passion for learning was first ignited. She continued her education at Chattahoochee Technical College, earning an Associate Degree that paved the way for her impactful career. Gerri dedicated her professional life to the Cobb County District Attorney's Office, where she served diligently as a Child Support Enforcement Agent. Her work there was not just a job but a calling, helping countless families navigate challenging times with her compassionate and unwavering support. In 1968, Gerri found her partner in life, marrying Daniel Robert Dean on October 12. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership, a beacon of mutual respect and devotion. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. Gerri's life was enriched by her role as a mother to her beloved son, Kevin M. Dean, and as a grandmother to her cherished grandson, Latrell Condrey. The loss of her daughter, Tracey Renee Dean, was a poignant chapter in her life, yet Gerri's strength and resilience served as an inspiration to her family and friends. A woman of quiet dignity and grace, Gerri was known for her private nature and the gentle warmth she extended to those within her circle. Her love for reading was matched only by her passion for gardening, where she found joy among the flowers she nurtured with care. Music, too, was a cherished companion, providing a soundtrack to her life's many beautiful moments. Gerri is predeceased by her sisters, Gertrude Quakenbush, Edith Daniels, and Sue Jeter, and her brothers, William, Hank, and Jack Jeter. Their memories, along with Gerri's, are cherished by her surviving family: her devoted husband, Daniel, her son, Kevin, and her grandson, Latrell, who will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness. As we say goodbye to Gerri, we remember her as a beacon of love, dignity, and quiet strength. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched. A service to honor Gerri's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to celebrate the remarkable woman she was. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to a charity of choice, one that reflects Gerri's spirit and dedication to helping others. Rest in peace, dear Gerri. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
