Edith Kay Dun

Edith Kay Dun, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on March 14, 1941, in Albion, Michigan, Edith was the cherished daughter of Dale Frank and Meda Eleanor Ball. She grew up in Albion, graduating from Albion High School as part of the class of 1959. In her early years, Edith embarked on a journey of compassion and dedication, working as a school bus driver and later serving as the Adult Education Coordinator at Homer Community Schools. Her commitment to education and helping others was a testament to her generous spirit and unwavering kindness. On September 9, 1972, Edith married the love of her life, Jayme Dun. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their children Rebecca Andrews, David Hanks, Lori Goldsbury, Crystal Stuart (Richard), and Jay Blair (Aaron). Edith was the proud grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and inspired with her loving nature. Edith's life was a tapestry of love and joy, woven with trips to the Upper Peninsula, where she found peace and beauty in the great outdoors. At home, she delighted in watching birds and wildlife from her mini forest. Known as the matriarch of her family since 1992, Edith was a beacon of strength and unity. She had an innate ability to bring people together, whether through a lively game of Euchre or during family gatherings where her laughter and warmth filled the room. Her love for inspirational word searches and devotionals reflected her deep faith and introspection. Edith was a guiding light, offering wisdom and support to all who sought her counsel. Edith is survived by her devoted husband, Jayme, her loving children, her adored grand and great-grandchildren, her beloved sister Lois Thompson, and many cherished nieces and nephews. She joins in eternal rest her parents Dale and Eleanor, her son Gary Lee, her grandson Kenneth Hanks, and her great-granddaughter Ashlee Edith The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Henry Ford Hospice and her compassionate caregiver, Angelina Bushong, for the exceptional care and comfort they provided. In accordance with Edith's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Edith's memory may consider a donation to Family Life Radio, an organization close to her heart. Edith Kay Dun will be remembered for her boundless love, generous spirit, and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends for generations to come.
