It is with deep respect and love that we commemorate the life of Edith Dorene Hiscox, who passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at the age of 94, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on November 19, 1931, in the serene town of Crescent City, California, Edith was a beacon of kindness and strength, touching the lives of all who knew her. Edith was the cherished daughter of Charles D. Johnson and Thelma H. Fultz Johnson. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her devoted husband of 72 years, William (Bill) Hiscox, her dear sister, Marjorie Ingebretson, and her longtime friend, Joan Costa. Their memories were a source of comfort to her, and she often spoke of them with great affection. A woman of enduring love and devotion, Edith is survived by her four children, each of whom carries her legacy forward: Barbara Jones and her husband Mike, Sandra Abedi, William H. (Bill) Hiscox and his wife Pam, and Thomas H. Hiscox and his wife Carolyn. Edith's family was her pride and joy, and she found immense happiness in watching it grow. She was a beloved grandmother to 14 grandchildren, who remember her as a source of endless love and wisdom, and a great-grandmother to 38 great-grandchildren, who brought her boundless joy and laughter. Edith's life was a tapestry of love, compassion, and resilience. Her gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to her family were hallmarks of her character. Her home was always open, filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of her delicious cooking. Edith's heart and home were a sanctuary for all, and her legacy of kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her. In celebration of Edith's life, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in her honor to a charity of choice that reflects her spirit and values.
