Mrs. Edith Irene Brewer, 87 years old, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life on Tuesday May 19, 2026 in Laurel, MS She was born in Waynesboro on Monday, June 13, 1938 to Wash E. (Zeller) Brewer and Maude Brewer. She was a member of Waynesboro Church of God and was a Homemaker. Mrs. Brewer is preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Brewer; father, Wash E. (Zeller) Brewer and mother, Maude Brewer; son, Allen L. Johnson; brother, Cecil Brewer; sisters, Catherine Dunnam and Zella Nelson. She is survived by 3 daughters, Wanda Johnson and Brenda Brewer (Junior) of Waynesboro, Amanda Taylor Copeland of Fairhope, AL; 2 brothers, Rev. Pettis Brewer (Jean) of Petal, Robert "Bob" Brewer of Louisiana; 8 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren. Visitation for Mrs. Brewer will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 23,2026 at Freeman Funeral Home, 1305 Skyland Drive, Waynesboro, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Odom and Rev. Shawn Hales officiating. Interment will be in Corinth Cemetery. We are deeply saddened by this loss. Our hearts go out to those close to them. We remember the beautiful person that they were and take solace in knowing that they are now at peace. Rest in peace, Edith Brewer. You will be dearly missed by all who knew you.
