In Loving Memory of Edgar S. Calasara (1945-2026) With a heart full of sorrow and gratitude, we announce the peaceful passing of Edgar S. Calasara on May 18, 2026, at the age of 81. Edgar was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Born on April 28, 1945, in the picturesque town of Leon, Iloilo, Philippines, Edgar was the cherished son of Estaquio and Elma Calasara. He was the youngest of three siblings, predeceased by his loving parents and his dear sisters, Elizabeth and Eleanor Calasara. From an early age, Edgar exhibited a quiet strength and a loving demeanor that would define his life and relationships. Edgar pursued higher education at the University of Iloilo in Iloilo City, Philippines. His academic journey was complemented by a profound love for nature, which eventually guided him to a fulfilling career in landscaping in Texas. His work was more than a profession; it was a calling that allowed him to transform ordinary spaces into vibrant, serene landscapes that echoed the calm and beauty of his own spirit. In 1976, Edgar married the love of his life, Elma Calasara, in a heartfelt ceremony on June 7, in Iloilo, Philippines. Their nearly 50-year marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, filled with laughter, support, and shared dreams. Together, they built a family grounded in love and respect, raising two sons, Horace and Brian Calasara, who both survive him. Edgar was a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren, for whom he expressed an endless supply of love and joy. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, his eyes lighting up with pride and affection as he watched his grandchildren grow and thrive. A man of many talents and interests, Edgar filled his days with simple pleasures that brought him immense joy. He loved playing card games and mahjong, often gathering friends and family around a table for evenings filled with laughter and friendly competition. A true lover of life’s vibrant hues, he found beauty in pastel colors and the rich flavors of good food. Fishing was a cherished pastime, offering him moments of peace and reflection. His love for music was profound, often playing it "loud" to fill his home with melodies that resonated with his soul. Edgar was a man of calm and quiet strength, known for his humorous spirit, patience, and generous heart. He was dependable and selfless, always ready to offer a helping hand or a word of encouragement. His caring nature and loving eyes left a lasting impression on everyone he met. A service to celebrate Edgar's life will be held on June 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Laurence Catholic Church, located at 3100 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugarland, TX 77479.
