It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Edgar “Eddie” Wilson on April 16, 2026, at the age of 84. Eddie, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, left this world surrounded by love and comfort in the hospital.
Born on March 26, 1942, in the serene landscapes of Maryland, Eddie’s life was a testament to resilience, dedication, and warmth. He was the kind of person whose presence lit up a room, whose laughter was contagious, and whose kindness knew no bounds.
Eddie spent an impressive 41 years contributing to the innovative spirit at DuPont. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his commitment to his job was a reflection of the pride he took in every task. Eddie’s colleagues often spoke of his unwavering professionalism and his ability to inspire those around him. He not only excelled in his career but also left a lasting impression on everyone he worked with, fostering friendships that extended far beyond the office walls.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Eddie’s greatest joy was his family. He shared a beautiful life with his devoted wife, Jane Wilson, with whom he built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Eddie and Jane’s bond was an unbreakable testament to love and partnership, serving as an enduring example to their family and friends.
Eddie was the proud grandfather to 19 adoring grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He cherished every moment spent with them, from teaching them how to fish in his favorite Maryland streams to sharing stories of the past, ensuring that his legacy of love and wisdom would be passed down through generations.
Eddie’s life was a rich tapestry of experiences, adventures, and, most importantly, relationships. He was a man of simple pleasures, enjoying the quiet beauty of nature, a good book by the fireplace, and the camaraderie of a game of chess with friends. Eddie’s compassion knew no limits; he was a gentle soul who always found time to lend a helping hand, whether to a neighbor in need or a stranger passing by.
As we say goodbye to Eddie, let us remember the joy he brought into our lives, the lessons he imparted, and the love he so freely gave. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane, his devoted children, and his 19 treasured grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward his legacy of kindness, integrity, and love.
A celebration of Eddie’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share the stories that made him so dear to us all. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in Eddie’s honor, to continue his legacy of helping others.
Eddie Wilson’s life was a blessing to all who knew him, and though he may have left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts. His journey may have ended, but the love he gave and the memories he created will endure for eternity.
Rest in peace, dear Eddie. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
