Edgar Castro, a beloved son, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on July 25, 2026, at the age of 61. Born on September 4, 1964, in the vibrant city of Quito, Ecuador, Edgar was a beacon of light and love to all who knew him. His journey through life was marked by an unwavering faith, a profound love for his family, and an enduring spirit of kindness. Edgar was a man of deep convictions and steadfast faith. He lived his life guided by the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith." This scripture encapsulates the essence of Edgar’s life—one filled with perseverance, dedication, and an unyielding hope in the face of life's challenges. Throughout his life, Edgar remained deeply connected to his roots in Ecuador, cherishing the rich culture and traditions of his birthplace. He carried these values with him as he made a life in the United States, where he became a cherished member of the community. A devoted brother, Edgar leaves behind his treasured siblings: Juan Castro, Francisco Castro, Cesar Castro, and Ana Castro Goodman. His love for them was immeasurable, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and joys. Edgar's family was his greatest treasure, and he found immense happiness in their shared memories and the bonds that held them together. Edgar's life will be celebrated in a memorial service on July 31, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. The service will be held at the serene South Fork Licking River in Cynthia, Kentucky, where family and friends will gather to honor his remarkable life and bid him a loving farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, continuing Edgar's legacy of compassion and generosity.
