EDDIE WILKINS
February 13, 1967 — September 13, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Eddie Wilkins, who left us on September 13, 2026, at the age of 59. Eddie departed this world after a brave battle with kidney issues and a seizure, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
Born on February 13, 1967, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Eddie was the cherished son of Sandra Lee Wilkins and Reginald Woodlin. Though his mother, Sandra, and grandmother, Ellina Wilkins, have predeceased him, along with his aunts Emma Wilkins and Ellina Wilkins-Johnson, their loving memories and teachings remained ever-present in Eddie's heart.
Eddie was the proud father of his son, Eddie Gordon, who was the light of his life. He is also deeply mourned by his siblings, Leroy Wilkins and Chenell Reeves-Wilkins, and his niece, Justina Jasmine Wilkins, as well as his nephews, Saleem Leroy Wilkins Gray and Rubin Bowers III. Eddie’s extended family includes a host of cousins and dear friends, including Sonora Jones, Joyce, Starasia Gordon, and Robert Gordon, who were like family to him.
Educated at Walton Elementary School and Fitzsimmons Junior High School, Eddie went on to work in the restaurant industry, where his hard work and dedication were evident to all who had the pleasure of working with him. Though he never served in the military, his service to others was unwavering, always offering a listening ear without judgment and a helping hand whenever needed.
Eddie had a passion for murder mysteries, finding great joy in watching shows like "In the Heat of the Night" and "Law and Order." A true sports enthusiast, he was an avid fan of The Philadelphia Eagles and The Sixers, relishing every victory and supporting them through every challenge.
Eddie was known for his incredible sense of humor, constantly lifting spirits with his jokes and infectious laughter. His kindness and generosity touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known him. His caregivers, Ms. Roschell Gordon, Starasia Gordon, and Robert Gordon, provided compassionate care during his final days, for which the family is eternally grateful.
A celebration of Eddie's life will be held on October 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Airy Church of God in Christ, located at 6401 Ogontz Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19126. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice, in honor of Eddie's generous spirit.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Jefferson Einstein Montgomery Hospital in Norristown, PA, and to his dedicated caregivers for their unwavering support and love. Eddie will be forever in our hearts, remembered for his warmth, humor, and the joy he brought into our lives.
In lieu of flowers, the family of EDDIE WILKINS welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
