Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Eddie was a beacon of strength, love, and resilience, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew him.
Eddie's life was a testament to dedication and service. He proudly served in the United States Army for 15 years, embodying courage and commitment, defending the values and freedoms dear to this nation. His military service was not just a duty but a profound calling that shaped his character and influenced all aspects of his life.
Eddie was a devoted husband to his loving wife, Kimberly Risher, whose unwavering support and love were the cornerstones of his life. Together, they built a family filled with laughter, warmth, and love. Eddie was a proud and loving father to his three daughters, Heaven, Shari, and Giana, who were his pride and joy. He leaves behind two cherished grandchildren, who were the light of his life and whom he adored deeply.
He is survived by his parents, Eddie Risher and Gladys Presley, who instilled in him the values of kindness and integrity. Eddie was a beloved brother to Antonio Risher, Quentin Risher, Jeffrey Coppock, Terry Welch, Joe Pinkney, and Lamont. His sisters, Tiffany Risher, Cynthia, and Mackenzie Welch, held a special place in his heart, as did all his extended family members, who mourn his loss deeply.
Eddie's life was one of quiet strength and courage, meeting life’s challenges with grace and dignity. His journey wasn't without its hardships, yet he faced them with a resilience that inspired everyone around him. His passing, during emergency surgery after a long and hard road to recovery, reminds us of his bravery and tenacity.
A service to celebrate Eddie’s life will be held on March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Deland Missionary Baptist Church, located at 2518 Jammes Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210. Family, friends, and all whose lives Eddie touched are invited to join in honoring his memory. A burial will follow at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on March 30th, 2026, at 11:30 AM, where Eddie will be laid to rest with the honor befitting a soldier and a hero.
Eddie Risher's life was a symphony of love, service, and unwavering faith. Though he may have left this earthly realm, the melodies of his life will continue to resonate, carried forward by those who loved him. His warmth, his laughter, and his steadfast spirit will remain imprinted in our hearts forever.
