Eddie Summerall, a beloved husband, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 16, 1952, in Savannah, Georgia, Eddie was the cherished son of Eddie Williams and Elizabeth Summerall Williams. Eddie spent his formative years in the vibrant communities of Chatham County, Georgia, and New Hanover County, North Carolina, where he received his education. Throughout his life, Eddie maintained a deep connection to his roots, embodying the values and warmth of the Southern spirit. Eddie's life was rich with love and laughter, shared with his devoted wife, Lillian. Together, they created a life full of cherished memories and unwavering support for one another. Eddie was also a devoted brother, leaving behind his siblings Glenn Williams (Carolyn) of Atlanta, Georgia, Kathy Williams Cross (Reavy) of Wilmington, North Carolina, Darrell Williams (Shirley) of Atlanta, Georgia, Ricky Williams (Yolanda) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Rochelle McLaurin (Tony) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, all of whom will forever hold him in their hearts. Eddie was a man of integrity and kindness, known for his ability to bring people together and his infectious smile that could light up any room. His presence was a gift to those who knew him, and his legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of calling him family or friend. A memorial service to honor and celebrate Eddie's life will be held on October 16, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Shaw & Sons Funeral Services, located at 520 Red Cross Street, Wilmington, North Carolina. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at John H. Shaw's Son Funeral Home, as well as the many friends and family members who have offered their support during this difficult time. Eddie will be dearly missed, but his memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
