Born on August 21, 1964, in Durham, North Carolina, Eddie was the cherished son of the late Mary Reid and Tommy Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Howard Reid, and his sister Elaine Reid. Eddie's life was a testament to kindness and creativity, marked by a profound love for drawing and an unwavering dedication to helping others. His artistic talents were not only a personal joy but also a source of happiness and inspiration for all who knew him. Those who had the privilege of witnessing his artistry were often left in awe of the beauty and emotion he could convey with just a pencil and paper. Eddie's kindness knew no bounds. He had an innate ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, offering a helping hand whenever it was needed. His gentle spirit and generous heart touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of compassion that will be remembered by all who crossed his path. Though he has left us too soon, Eddie's memory will forever be cherished by his surviving family. He is lovingly remembered by his four sisters, Evelyn Trice, Melea Currie, Linda Reid, and Shiakira Walker; his devoted sister-in-law, Angie Reid; and his brother, Clayton Reid, and his wife Deborah. Eddie's extended family includes his dear aunts, Patsy Owen and Gail Worthy, his uncle Bernard White, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all miss him dearly. A service to celebrate Eddie's life will be held on May 15, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Hanes Funeral Home, located at 460 S Driver St, Durham, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the life of a man who gave so much of himself to others. In memory of Eddie and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, spreading the kindness that Eddie so effortlessly embodied throughout his life.
