Eddie Franklin Dean, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2026, at the age of 62. Born on July 14, 1963, in Scott, Mississippi, Eddie was a beacon of warmth and friendliness to all who knew him. His sudden departure, caused by a stroke, leaves a void in the hearts of his family and friends. Eddie was the cherished son of the late James Alton Dean and Glenda Faye Bridges. He was predeceased by his father, as well as his maternal grandparents, George and Lottie Bridges, and paternal grandparents, Marshall and Ruth Dean. He leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted daughter, Anna Dean, and son, Eddie Mackewich. Eddie is also survived by his brothers, Marshall Dean, David Langley, Larry Langley, and his sister, Lisa Dean Miller, all of whom will forever hold dear the memories of their shared lives. A proud graduate of Carthage High School and East Central Junior College, Eddie demonstrated a commitment to education and personal growth. He went on to serve his country with distinction in the United States Air Force from 1985 until 1992. During his service, he played a crucial role as a lead refueler in Operation Desert Storm, exemplifying bravery and dedication. After his military service, Eddie transitioned into a career as a salesman, working for various companies where he continued to exhibit his natural charm and ability to connect with people. His colleagues and clients admired his cheerful disposition and his gift for conversation, which left a lasting impression on everyone he met. An avid outdoorsman, Eddie found joy and solace in fishing and hunting. His love for sports was evident in his dedication to golf, a game he played passionately for over four decades. Eddie's enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he never encountered a stranger, as his heart was always open to new friendships. Eddie's life will be celebrated in a service held on March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Wilcox Funeral Home, located at 106 South Jordan Street, Carthage, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Eddie's memory to St. Jude's for Kids, reflecting his enduring love for children and his desire to make a difference in their lives. Eddie Franklin Dean touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and unwavering friendship. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
