September 22, 1945 — June 29, 2026

Edd Preston Odham, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, in the comfort of his home. Born on September 22, 1945, in the charming town of Marion, Virginia, Edd was the cherished son of the late Daniel Brown Odham, Sr. and Mary Nelle Stone Odham Calhoun. Edd's journey through life was one of dedication, hard work, and love for those around him. He spent 26 years as a tire retreader at Thompson Tire, a testament to his unwavering work ethic. Edd later pursued his passion for electrical work, earning his Master Electrician's License and contributing his skills to Owens Electric until his retirement. His colleagues and clients will remember him as a man of integrity and profound expertise. Service to his community was a cornerstone of Edd's life. As a volunteer fireman with the Atkins Fire Department, he dedicated himself tirelessly to safeguarding others, eventually earning the honor of becoming an Honorary Fireman. His commitment to service was matched only by his warmth and hospitality—Edd never met a stranger and delighted in helping those in need. Outside of his professional and civic endeavors, Edd found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid motorcyclist, water skier, and hunter, pursuits that allowed him to embrace the great outdoors and share memorable moments with loved ones. Above all, Edd was a family man. He was a super proud Granddaddy to his three grandchildren and a doting “Grandpappy” to his four great-grandchildren. His love and devotion to them knew no bounds, and his presence in their lives was a treasured gift. Edd leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife, Victoria B. Odham, who was by his side throughout their journey together. His daughter, Susan Odham West, and her husband Philip, of Bristol, Virginia, continue to carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. Edd's sister, Margie Privett, and her husband Lonnie, of Troutdale, Virginia, shared a lifelong bond of love and support with him. He is also remembered fondly by his step-daughters, Amy Arcaro and Anita Copley (Keith), both of Abingdon, and his treasured grandchildren: Emily Buckles (Adam) of Bristol, Virginia; Levi Owens (Nikki) of Adwolfe, Virginia; and Jaymie Johnson (Zack) of Kingsport, Tennessee. In celebration of Edd's remarkable life, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of choice. This gesture of kindness will honor Edd's legacy of generosity and compassion. Edd Preston Odham's life was a testament to love, service, and the joy of family. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we hold his memory close, knowing that his spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him.
