Eboni Charis Wilkinson

Eboni Charis Wilkinson, a beloved daughter, mother, and partner, passed away suddenly on August 6, 2026, at Hope Center. Born on June 4, 1986, in Mt. Holly, NJ, Eboni was a beacon of light to all who knew her, known for her quick wit and captivating storytelling, traits that always made those around her feel at ease. Eboni's journey in life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her education and career. She was an alumna of Kenwood High School and later pursued her passion for beauty by graduating from Clarksville Cosmetology School. Her love for learning led her to attend Austin Pea College, where she majored in Chemical Engineering. Despite her academic pursuits, Eboni's heart always belonged to cosmetology, and she delighted in styling her clients' hair until her untimely passing. Eboni was deeply cherished by her family. She is survived by her devoted common-law husband, Manuel Alexander Gunnels, with whom she shared a life filled with love and companionship since September 12, 2013. Together, they raised a beautiful family, including her sons, Te'Vontez QuaShawn West, Jevonte Charon West, and Marquise Aquell Gunnels, and her daughter, Malia Alyssandra Gunnels. Eboni's legacy lives on through her loving mother, Donna Joyce Wilkinson, her father, Glenn Parker, her sisters, De'Vakyi and Theresa, and her brother, Kazon. As we remember Eboni, we also hold in our hearts the memories of those who have gone before her, including her cherished Grandma Hazel Wilkinson, Grandpa Cameron Carl Wilkinson, and Uncle Mark Anthony Wilkinson. A service to celebrate Eboni's life will be held on September 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the 1st Baptist Church of Marshall Heights, located at 4934 B St SE, Washington, DC 20019. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Eboni are invited to join in honoring her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude, an organization close to Eboni's heart. Eboni Charis Wilkinson will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and the love she shared so generously. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
