Born on October 1, 1960, in the charming town of Madison, Indiana, Earnie touched the lives of everyone he met with his warmth, humor, and unyielding spirit. Earnie was the beloved son of the late Earnie and Mary Barrett, and he now joins them, along with his sister Beverly Sue Hoyt and brother Steven Scott Barrett, in eternal peace. His legacy continues to live on through the love and cherished memories of his surviving family: his devoted wife, Janet Barrett; his brothers, Roy Barrett and Richard Barrett; his daughters, Brittany (Brandon) Bickley and Jessica (Scott) Terrell; and his son, Jonathan (Spring) Barrett. Earnie was a proud grandfather, and his legacy will undoubtedly live on through his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. A proud alumnus of Madison Consolidated High School, Earnie was a man of diverse talents and an unwavering work ethic. His career took him to various factories in Scott County, where he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues. Earnie also found joy in working as a bartender and bouncer at several local bars, where his larger-than-life personality and quick wit endeared him to patrons and coworkers alike. He was not just a bartender; he was a confidante and friend to many, always ready to lend an ear or a joke to lighten the mood. Earnie's true passion, however, lay in the simple joys of life. He loved spending time with people, always the heart of every gathering, cutting up with friends and family, and spreading laughter wherever he went. His zest for life was infectious, and his ability to find humor in the everyday was a gift to all who knew him. Though Earnie's time with us was all too brief, the impact he made on those around him is immeasurable. His family and friends will forever remember his kindness, his laughter, and the way he made everyone feel special. His legacy is one of love, resilience, and joy—a testament to a life well-lived.
