Earnest Martin

July 23, 1957 — September 14, 2026

Earnest Martin entered into eternal rest on September 14, 2026, at Wellstar-MCG in Augusta, Georgia, with his loving family by his side. Born on July 23, 1957, in Edgefield, South Carolina, Earnest was a native of Edgefield and attended Strom Thurmond High School. Throughout his life, Earnest experienced many different seasons and walked his own unique journey. Through it all, he remained a beloved member of his family, creating memories that will continue to be cherished by those who knew and loved him. Earnest leaves to cherish his memory a host of sisters and half-sisters, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, including those who shared his journey through childhood, adulthood, and the many seasons of his life. His presence brought memories, stories, and moments that will continue to live on through the generations. Though his earthly journey has come to an end, the memories of Earnest will remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His life was a part of a larger family story, and his memory will continue to be carried forward by those he leaves behind. The family of Earnest Martin wishes to extend our sincere thanks and deepest gratitude for the many expressions of sympathy, love, prayers, and acts of kindness shown during our time of bereavement. Every prayer, word of encouragement, gesture of love, and expression of support has been deeply appreciated. Your kindness and compassion have brought comfort to our family during this difficult time. As we remember Earnest, let us celebrate the kindness, joy, and love he shared with us all. May his legacy continue to inspire us to live with grace and love, just as he did.

Poem / Prayer

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV) A Life Remembered Every life has a story, and Earnest's story was uniquely his own. His journey was filled with different seasons, challenges, relationships, and moments that shaped the man he became. For those who loved him, some of the most meaningful memories may be found in the simplest moments—the visits, the conversations, the laughter, and the time spent together as a family. Those moments become treasures when someone we love is no longer with us. Earnest's journey on earth has come to an end, but his story does not end here. It continues through the family he leaves behind, the memories that will be shared for generations, and the lives touched by his presence. His final chapter also reflected something meaningful about who he was: a spirit of giving. Even in his passing, his gift provided an opportunity for life to continue and for others to receive another chance. May we remember Earnest not only for the struggles he faced, but for the love he gave, the memories he created, and the lives that continue to be touched because he was here. His course is finished. His story remains. His memory lives on.

Until We Meet Again

Though you have taken your final rest, Your memory will remain forever blessed. The love you gave, the life you shared, Will live in every heart that cared. Though tears may fall and hearts may ache, The memories you left will never fade. Your journey here has reached its end, But your love remains around us still. Rest peacefully, Earnest, and know this is true: You will always be loved, remembered, and missed. And until that beautiful day when we meet again, You will forever live in our hearts. Rest in peace, Earnest. Forever loved. Forever remembered. -Nieces and Nephews
