In 1956, Earl married the love of his life, Granville House Scales. Together they shared an extraordinary journey of 69 years, a partnership filled with unwavering devotion and countless cherished memories. Granville remained by his side until his peaceful departure, embodying the very essence of their enduring love story.
Earl's life was illuminated by the presence of his children and grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride. He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Yolanda Scales Faison, and sons Jeffery Scales and Devin Favors Scales. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Cymone Faison, Alexander Brown, and Zipporah Ash, each of whom carries forward the values and wisdom imparted by their grandfather.
In addition to his immediate family, Earl was surrounded by a community of loved ones who enriched his life. Aldray Pearson, a close neighbor whom Earl considered a son, was a constant source of companionship and support. Earl was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Willie Mae Manlove, and his dear aunts, Lillian Southhall, Lucille Green, Andrew Manlove, and Shugg Manlove. Their memories remained alive in Earl's heart, inspiring him to live a life of compassion and grace.
