Earl Swearington Jr.

June 20, 1941 — September 19, 2026

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we commemorate the life of Earl Swearington Jr., who passed away on September 19, 2026, in the city that bore witness to his remarkable journey—Houston, Texas. Born on June 20, 1941, Earl was the beloved son of Earl Swearington Sr. and Annie Swearington, whose nurturing spirit laid the foundation for a life marked by dedication, love, and service. Earl attended Kashmere Senior High School, graduating with the Class of 1961. Following his education, he made the noble decision to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army, where he demonstrated unwavering loyalty and commitment. In 1968, Earl married the love of his life, Jimmie Lee Hebert, in a union that would last 57 beautiful years. Together, they built a life filled with joy and resilience, blessed with two sons, Dwight and Dwayne. Though Jimmie Lee and Earl shared many cherished moments, she preceded him in death, leaving behind a legacy of enduring love. Earl dedicated over four decades to Ankle Glass Company, where he was known for his tireless work ethic and integrity. His commitment to his craft and his colleagues left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside him. A family man through and through, Earl leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories with his sons Dwight and Dwayne, his brother Quincy Holdman, sisters-in-law Dorothy Simon and Debra Kimble, and brother-in-law Jessie Simon. His grandchildren Tylisha (Daryl) Barlow, Naushia Swearington, Retisha Swearington, Destinee Swearington, Biondrea Swearington, Bria Swearington, India Swearington, Jamari Glass, Erwin Wolf, Deja Wolf, and Ava Loud hold dear the warmth and wisdom he imparted. His legacy is further carried by his god-daughters Dana Burns and Vontricia Wilson, daughters-in-love Rondra Swearington, Bertha Swearington, Deconda Davis, and Rozina Victors, 12 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Earl is now reunited with his wife, parents, grandson Dwight J. Swearington II, and great-grandson Ja’Monte Harris, who preceded him in eternal rest. A service celebrating Earl's life will be held on October 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Love Baptist Church, located at 4517 Laura Koppe Rd., Houston, TX 77016.
