Earl Sanderson, a cherished member of the Lumbee Tribe and devoted family man, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 7, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on August 20, 1947, in Lumberton, NC, Earl's life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to family. Earl was survived by his beloved three sons, Earl C. Sanderson Jr. (EC), Bruce Sanderson, and Ron Sanderson along with his grandson Reece Sanderson as well as many other family members, including sisters, nieces, and other relatives who were all part of his extended family within the Lumbee Tribe. Earl's heart had recently been heavy with the loss of his loving wife, who passed away in June 2025, yet he remained a pillar of strength and support for those around him. Known for his deep devotion to his family, Earl's legacy continues through his two closest granddaughters, Jennifer and Miranda Sanderson, who will carry forth his memory with grace and love. His gentle spirit and kind heart left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Earl's life was filled with laughter, love, and an unshakeable commitment to those he held dear. He taught by example, showing that the bonds of family are the most precious gifts of all. His presence will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will continue to guide and inspire his loved ones. In honor of Earl's memory, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made in his name to organizations supporting the Lumbee Tribe or a charity of your choice. The family extends their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
