September 19, 2000 — April 27, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Dylan Alan Riggs, a beloved son, father, partner, and friend. Dylan left this world on April 27, 2026, at the tender age of 25, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born on September 19, 2000, in the welcoming town of Fremont, Michigan, Dylan's life was a tapestry of warmth and dedication to those he held dear.
Dylan's journey through life was marked by his unwavering commitment to family and his zest for life. He graduated from North Bullitt High School, where he forged lifelong friendships and developed a passion for welding. For the past five years, Dylan honed his craft at Snap-on Tools, a career that he approached with pride and diligence. His colleagues and friends remember him as a skilled welder with an infectious smile and an unmatched work ethic.
Family was the cornerstone of Dylan's life. He was a devoted father to his beloved daughter, Vada Riggs, who was the light of his life. Dylan shared a deep, abiding love with his significant other, Nichole Pendleton, whose partnership and support enriched every moment they spent together.
Dylan's heart was large enough to encompass a vast network of family and friends. He is survived by his loving mother, Edith, and stepfather, Joe Hartley. He was a cherished brother to his sister, Haley Haney, and brother-in-law, Cody Maples, and a doting uncle to his niece, Delilah Haney. His grandfathers, David Buckhalter and grandmother Mary Jo Hartley, along with grandmother Judith Mills, will forever hold him in their hearts.
Dylan's family extends beyond those immediately related by blood. His aunts and uncles—Anne and Steve Joseph, Jane and Jimmy Harrison, Susan and Gary Brown, Mary and Tim Connolly, Lucy and Craig Armstrong, Jenny and Guy Capici, Christine and Stott DeVries, and Denise Goins—were all integral parts of his life. He also leaves behind a loving circle of "bonus" siblings: Sandy, Jessica, Tanna, Tiffany, Christopher, Derrick, Kyle, David, and Cody. His cousins Torry and Kimmy Johnson, Justin Hamilton, and Steven and Sahara Creighton, along with many nieces and nephews, will fondly remember the joy he brought into their lives.
Dylan's life was also touched by loss. He was predeceased by his grandmother, Marjorie Buckhalter; grandfather, Dean Hartley; grandmother, Thelma Spencer; niece, Hazel Maples; and his best friend, Timmy Martinez, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms into the next life.
Dylan will be remembered for his boundless kindness, his ability to light up any room with laughter, and his unwavering dedication to those he loved. His memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
In keeping with Dylan's generous spirit, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a trust fund established for his daughter, Vada, ensuring that his legacy of love and care endures.
A celebration of Dylan's life will be held to honor his memory and the indelible mark he left on the hearts of so many. Details will be shared in the coming days.
Dylan Alan Riggs will forever be missed, but never forgotten. His spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
