It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Dwayne Leon Futch, a man whose spirit was as vibrant as the music he cherished. Dwayne passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, at the age of 45. Born on July 27, 1980, in Brunswick, Georgia, Dwayne was the beloved son of Abe Leon Futch Sr. and the late Deborah Washington Futch. Dwayne's journey through life was marked by his warm and generous nature. He grew up in a family that cherished togetherness, humor, and resilience. His mother, Deborah, his sisters Dekiesha Green and Karen Futch, and his son, Dwayne Leon Futch Jr., who predeceased him, now welcome him into eternal rest. Known for his infectious laughter and uncanny ability to bring joy to those around him, Dwayne was a man of many talents. From his early days at the Youth Challenge Academy, where he graduated with pride, he went on to work at Benton Food Service at Fletec, where he was admired not only for his work ethic but also for his vibrant personality. Dwayne's passions were as varied as they were profound. His love for music was the soundtrack to his life, a constant companion that lifted his spirits and those of everyone around him. He had a knack for rebuilding his Mustang and racing cars, a testament to his adventurous spirit and love for the thrill of life. His hands found solace in the earth through landscaping, and he relished the tranquility of fishing. A talented cook, Dwayne delighted in preparing meals for his loved ones, always accompanied by stories of his children, whom he adored beyond measure. Dwayne's children, DeAndre and Sy'ayiallah Futch, were the pride and joy of his life. He was a devoted father who took every opportunity to express his love for them. His father, Abe Futch, and siblings—Carol Howard, William Futch, Melissa Scott, Melanie Futch, and Ahman Futch—along with a host of loving family members and close friends, will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. Known for his humor and warmth, Dwayne could light up a room with his impersonations and jokes. He was never afraid to express himself, and his authenticity won him the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him. Dwayne was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend—a beacon of love and laughter in many lives. A celebration of Dwayne's life will be held on May 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Royal Funeral Home, located at 247 W Pine St, Jesup, GA 31545.
